LED dimmers | Suitable for Segula LED lighting

Dimmers for LED lamps

LED lamps make different demands on dimmers than incandescent or halogen lamps. You can dim incandescent lamps in a relatively simple way by reducing the voltage, but dimming LED lamps involves some more sophisticated electronics.

Approved dimmers

Our range of LED dimmers has been extensively tested with Segula and Perluci LED light sources. They guarantee a light image and dimming behaviour that does justice to the look and quality we strive for. The dimmers have state-of-the art electronic and digital dimming technologies and operate on the principle of phase cut-off (RC). This guarantees the dimming quality and life span of the dimmer's light source.

Tips for LED dimmers

Some tips to achieve optimal dimming results: - Use dimmers with low initial power. This is especially important if you want to dim LED filament lamps properly. All our dimmers start at 1 watt. - Pay attention to the power factor (Pf) of the lamps. This partly determines the maximum load capacity of a dimmer. The higher the Pf, the more lamps can be connected to the dimmer. All LED light sources by Segula and Perluci have a Pf > 0.9 (maximum value = 1).

Ambient dimming

Besides excellent dimming characteristics, Segula's Ambient Line also offers changing colour temperature depending on the degree of dimming. At low light levels, the colour of the light is warmer than when the LED lamp is fully on. The colour temperature ranges from 1,700K to 2,900K, similar to traditional incandescent lamps. Thus, LED lamps produce a warm, homely atmosphere.
