Effect of UV-C lighting

UV-C light is very effective against various types of viruses and bacteria, including the Corona virus. UV-C light has been used for about 40 years and has proven to be effective.

The lighting kills the bacteria and viruses, cleaning and ventilating the air. Of course, it is also possible to air a room through ventilation, only this is much less effective, so viruses and bacteria are spread more. Thanks to UV-C technology, germs are effectively eliminated in the room and do not stand a chance of spreading.

What is UV-C lighting?

UV light is short for Ultraviolet light and is not visible to the human eye. UV light can be divided into three groups, namely UV-A, UV-B and UV-C. UV-C These three types each have their own wavelength. UV-A has a wavelength between 315 and 400 nm, UV-B has a range of 280 to 315 nm and UV-C has a wavelength range of 100 to 280 nm. Ultraviolet light has a shorter wavelength than light that is visible and is therefore more energetic. The light damages the DNA of viruses and micro-organisms, among others, preventing them from multiplying and killing them.

Some units are available in black and white, allowing you to choose the colour that best suits your space. For instance, go for the TW220, PMX2A48 or the CW110. SRSmedilux products are easy to install and use. Some devices can be ceiling-mounted, while others can be placed anywhere or hung on a wall.

Accessories for UV-C lighting

We also sell matching accessories for the SRSmedilux brand devices. These accessories are extremely handy, such as a mounting system, a tripod with wheels on which a device can be placed or an extra set of lamps. This is because the lamps need to be replaced after some time, as they become slightly less and less effective. Replacing the lamps is a snap, after which the lamps will last for a very long time again.
