UV-C lighting

UV-C lighting has been used for about 40 years. It has a wavelength range of 100 to 280 nm. Because it has a shorter wavelength than light, it is much more energetic and invisible. In rooms where proper ventilation is not possible, a UV-C device is incredibly effective. This is because it cleans the air by killing all viruses and bacteria. For instance, it inactivates DNA and RNA of fungi, bacteria and viruses, among others (source:liebertpub ). A good example is the Corona virus. In fact, devices with UV-C lighting render even the Corona virus harmless. They inactivate the virus, allowing it to reduce the pandemic now and in the future (source:journals.asm ). The devices are very suitable in, for example, offices, hospitals, (sports) schools and in the hospitality industry. In just 25 seconds, it disinfects a room (source: Rijksoverheid ). Indeed, even when there are a lot of people in a room and there is a lot of movement, a device with UV-C light is quite suitable.

UV-C devices from SRSmedilux

In Podiumtechniek's product range, you will find four devices from SRSmedilux, namely: - AW48 - TW220 - PMX2A48 - CW110 They are all UV-C devices. The first three devices can be placed anywhere or attached to a wall, and the last variant is a ceiling fan. Below, the four devices are briefly described.

The AW48 contains powerful UV-C lamps and is a compact device. You can choose to hang the unit somewhere, but it also fits perfectly on a desk, for example. The noise level is under 20dB and has a silent mode that is even under 16 dB. The airflow is 23 m2 per hour based on a height of 2.5 metres. You can choose the AW48 for a black or a white version.

TW220 also uses the UV-C fixture and features a micro-processor control unit that ensures optimal operation. The unit has dimensions of 600 x 150 x 70 mm and weighs 4.4 kg. The noise level is less than 20 dB, the airflow is 57 m2 per hour based on a height of 2.5 metres. and the power consumption is 220 - 240 V. The TW220 can be supplied in black and white and you can place the unit anywhere or hang it on a wall.

PMX2A48 has exactly the same dimensions and weight as the TW220. The noise level and power consumption are also similar to this device. Whereas the TW220 has an airflow of 57 m2 per hour, the PMX2A48 has an airflow of 23 m2 per hour. This unit is also available in both black and white colours. Good to know is that all three devices are completely sealed and have a proper housing. As a result, they have no negative effects on humans and animals.

The last device, the CW110, is a ceiling fan. Its size is 595 x 595 x 100 mm and its weight is 9.1 kg. The noise level is below 32 dB and the power consumption is 230 V. Finally, it has an airflow of 50 m2 per hour. This unit comes in black and white.

Stand with wheels

If you prefer not to hang the device but want to put it somewhere, this tripod including wheels is ideal. The tripod is height-adjustable with a minimum height of 870 mm and a maximum of 1570 mm. Thanks to the wheels under the tripod, you can easily move it to another room, for example. Both the AW48 and the PMX2A48 can be placed on the tripod. This accessory again comes in two colours, black and white.

Set of lamps

After time, the UV-C bulbs in the unit need to be replaced. The unit itself indicates this by means of a red flashing LED light (then the lamps are almost empty) or an LED light that stays permanently red (then the lamps are completely empty). It is therefore no superfluous luxury to have a set of lamps in stock, so that you can replace the lamps in good time and the operation of the UV-C lamps remains as optimal as possible.
