RF-toolbox Preamp
The RF-toolbox Preamp is an antenna pre-amplifier that compensates for signal loss that occurs, for example, with long cable lengths. An RF-toolbox Preamp can be controlled remotely from an RF-toolbox XL or RF-toolbox Splitter-8.
Zones
Remotely, the gain for the antennas can be set individually and the Preamps can be switched on and off independently. This allows, in a multi-zone/antenna set-up - where there are antennas in multiple, different locations - to significantly extend the range while maintaining an optimal antenna signal. This in combination with passive antenna splitters.
Communication
Communication between an RF-toolbox Preamp and an RF-toolbox XL or Splitter-8 is bidirectional: the Preamp reports back when settings changes have actually been made. With the RF-toolbox XL and Splitter-8, signal strength and power consumption can be monitored and optimised for each situation. Each RF-toolbox Preamp has its own ID and a total of 32 RF-toolbox Preamps can be controlled. The RF-toolbox XL or Splitter-8 provide power to the Preamp via the coaxial cable.
Locking
Of course, the RF-toolbox Preamp can also be controlled on the housing itself. Then the gain, on or off and ID number can be set. These control functions can be locked and thus protected against unintended use.
